This functionalist table was designed by Jindřich Halabala in the second half of the 1930s for UP závody Rousínov and represents an important example of interwar Czechoslovak modernism. The design reflects the principles of Functionalism and Bauhaus, emphasizing structural clarity, balance, and material contrast.
The table features a round veneered wooden top with a distinctive fan-shaped veneer pattern that creates a strong visual center. It is supported by an airy chrome-plated tubular steel base with dynamically intersecting legs, a construction that gives the table both stability and visual lightness.
The piece is fully original and comes from the same interior as Halabala functionalist chairs. It remains in very good original condition, with well-preserved veneer showing a deep natural grain and chrome surfaces retaining a fine, age-appropriate patina.
