Original Item – Only One Available. This is the rare modern Russian Federation issue of the “Honorary Polar Explorer” badge, officially approved in 2005 by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. Awarded to personnel and contributors who made significant achievements in Arctic exploration and the development of the Northern Sea Route, it represents the continuation of a tradition first introduced in the Soviet Union in 1938.
The badge design features the nuclear icebreaker Lenin, framed against a radiant globe grid, surmounted by the Russian tricolor flag and golden laurel. At the base is a stylized anchor-and-wing motif symbolizing Arctic maritime aviation.
Unlike the widely awarded Soviet-era type, this modern Russian Federation issue is produced in very limited numbers and is rarely seen outside official circles. A scarce and highly desirable collectible for advanced militaria, naval, and exploration enthusiasts.
