Description:
Here is one that breathes new life into Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons," which everyone knows. On this album, the solo violin part is played on the panflute, and the result is an astonishing virtuosity with an archaic tone and literally no breath. Andrea Chira was born in Bucharest, Romania, and has shown a talent for playing the panflute, known as "nai" in her native country. With a repertoire ranging from traditional Romanian music to opera arias and pop songs, she is a star performer on this instrument and is based in Vienna and active in Europe. The arrangement for panflute was made by Carlos Pino-Quintana, an active contemporary composer, who emphasized the polyphonic aspect of the solo part of the original piece, moved it to a key suitable for panflute, and took care to balance it with the string ensemble so that the result is comfortable. *This LP is an analog version of the already released 555461 (CD) from which only "Four Seasons" was extracted.
