The Manfrotto 455 is a very solid, all-metal tripod that can hold almost any reasonably-sized camera (let's say that reasonable means up to 5x7-ish). Extends to about 5 feet without centre column, about 6 feet with. The centre column can also be removed and repositioned horizontally for copystand, macro, or odd-angle work. Accepts any head with a standard 3/8" thread.
