Temporary cover boards are hanging on by threads, but text gatherings are firmly stitched together. Minor foxing, otherwise clean.

Cuvier’s work pp1 to 183; Jameson’s ‘Appendix’ pp. 187 to 320; Mitchill’s work pp. 321 to the end including end plates. Contents pages for Cuvier and Jameson after preface, and for Mitchill, at rear. The three plates at the rear relating to Mitchell’s part are numbered 4 to 6, but in the preceding lengthy plate descriptions are referred to as 1 to 3.

Relatively rare, an early American compendium of the early European writers Cuvier and Jameson with a link by Samuel Mitchell from pp 321. Text in very good condition ready to be bound.
