Laurie Block is a veteran female acoustic blues guitarist and singer who has been active since the 1960s. The theme of the fifth installment of her "Mentor Series," which has become her life's work, is Skip James. This tribute album features the songs of Skip James, who left many great songs including "I'm So Glad" and has greatly influenced white bluesmen since then, with his brilliant fingerpicking and slide playing and expressive voice.
