Kazuhito Yamashita, one of Japan's leading classical guitarists, has yet to break the record he set at the age of 16 as the youngest ever winner of the world's three major guitar competitions: Ramirez (Spain), Alessandria (Italy), and Paris (France). Yamashita released his first album with RCA in 1978 at the age of 17, and has released nearly 90 albums to date. Yamashita and his sister, Naoko Yamashita, have been active as a duo, performing original duo works and arrangements from their own orchestral and piano compositions throughout the world.
