Made from 24k gold over brass, or sexy, cool rhodium over brass this uber cool chain is customizable in that you can choose the length.

Long-short chain links measure about one and one fourth of an inch, or 3 centimeters. While the short chain links measure one centimeter around.

Since the chain is so thick, 16 inches will seem like 14. 18 inches will fit more like 16 inches etc. So choose carefully when ordering.

Whichever length you choose, the necklace will be held together with a thick, sturdy, one inch ( 2 1/2 cm) gold plated or rhodium plated, lobster claw clasp.

Facts about Rhodium

Rhodium is a beautifully reflective, silver-white metallic, corrosion resistant  element that is often used to enhance white gold. It is considered the rarest and most valuable precious metal in the world, well above gold or silver. 

The name rhodium comes from the Greek word "rhodon," meaning rose, named for the rose-red color of its salts.

Properties

Rhodium is one of the six platinum group metals: platinum, palladium, rhodium, osmium, iridium and ruthenium. It is also classified as a noble metal, meaning that it does not react to oxygen easily. Translation; it’s highly resistant to tarnishing, ergo lower maintenance. 

Symbolism. 

Rhodium symbolizes wealth and has been used for giving high honors when more commonly used metals such as silver, gold, or platinum are deemed insufficient.

Nerd out facts: Rhodium is the rarest of the platinum group, only occurring up to one part per 200 million in the Earth's crust, it acts as a fantastic catalyst and is resistant to corrosion and oxidation.

Rhodium has lower density and a higher melting point than platinum. Rhodium it is unaffected by air and water up to 1,112 degrees Fahrenheit (600 degrees Celsius),
