The ABB SPNIS21 is a high-performance Network Interface Module (NIM) designed for the ABB Bailey INFI 90 and Symphony distributed control systems (DCS). It functions as a specialized communication bridge, facilitating high-speed data exchange between the controller and the plant’s communication loop.

In specific system architectures, the SPNIS21 also operates within the Bailey NIMP (Non-Isolated Module Processor) family, where it can serve as a non-isolated analog input acquisition board. This dual-role capability allows it to either manage complex network routing or process up to 16 analog channels (such as 4–20 mA and 0–10 VDC).
