Szechenyi, Imre (1825-1898)
Description:
Imre Széchenyi was born into a Hungarian noble family. While pursuing a career as a diplomat and ambassador in his own right, he continued to compose in parallel. The album contains a series of dances inspired by the Strauss family, a set of three pieces that were so popular at the time that his friend Johann Strauss II even performed them at his own concerts. Johann Strauss II, a friend of Szechenyi's, even featured them in his own concerts. These dances, which are rarely performed today, were all recorded for the first time in the world. The collection of humorous mazurkas and romantic polkas will completely enchant listeners in the 21st century. Naxos Japan
