Georges Aperghis is a Greek composer. He studied under Xenakis and founded ATEM (Atelier Theatre et Musique), a music and theater collective. Currently based in France, he is active in the field of experimental music theater. This recording of 14 Recitations was performed at the 2001 Vienna Modern Festival concert; written between 1977 and 1978, the work for solo soprano voice is one of the finest vocal works of our time, and this concert was the premiere of the entire work. Donatienne Michel-Dansac is a singer whose repertoire ranges from the Baroque period to the present day. Here she sings a variety of landscapes as if she were telling a story. Naxos Japan
