Description:

This concert film documents a memorable performance at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion in Los Angeles in 1976, conducted by the elder statesman of American composition, Aaron Copland (1900-1990) himself. The program includes Copland's great and charming compositions, beginning with the patriotic hymn "Fanfare for Citizens," the lively orchestral fantasy "El Salón Mexico," and the familiar and warm suite from the opera "Bidding Ground," with Benny Goodman as soloist, as well as his commissioned and premiered masterpiece "Clarinet Concerto," which was performed by the composer himself. Benny Goodman will also perform his masterpiece "Clarinet Concerto," commissioned and premiered by Goodman, under the composer's baton. Naxos Japan
