A really great board for setting up difficult soldering operations. Perfect for creating frames on your work, soldering tiny tubing and jump rings, and fast/easy setups for difficult/tricky soldering. You can push t-pins and stack them for longer pins. This is thicker than the Cotronics Board.
To refinish or maintain the board:
Gently sand outside, with an RZ mask or other particulate mask on, to refinish the top surface when flux creates crunchy surfaces. Works also as a glass fusing mold if you carve into it. You can easily carve into it to hold rings and odd shapes. I couldn’t work without it!
When you first get it there may be some loose dust. Dispose of in the trash (a mask is a good idea). Then the first time you heat it, the board will turn black as the rigidizer solidifies and burns off. Do this under ventilation or outside. Once fired the rigidizer will hold the particles together.
Comes in 3” square, 4” square, or 4.5” round with remaining material cut from 6” square (fits in your Silquar turntable from Otto Frei TDAVS6 = 6% off)
Check out the 10 steel pins in my SHOP for using in the board or buy the nickel-plated t-pins on Tonya Recommends (tab on website).
