Scriabin (1872-1915)
Description:
Scriabin's piano sonatas, with the exception of a study written in 1889, span almost his entire creative career, from No. 1 in 1893 to No. 10 in 1913. The influence of Chopin can be felt in No. 1, which was written around the time he gave up his dream of becoming a pianist due to a broken hand, but as he grew older, his sensuality and fantasy gradually became more apparent, and from No. 5 onward, the works are all in a single movement with a mysterious atmosphere, showing Scriabin's unique style that combines color and magic. The 5th piece has a mystical atmosphere in a single movement. The performer, Nuccio Trotta, studied at the Bari Conservatory and received his master's degree from the Mozarteum in Salzburg in 1989. Trained by Aldo Ciccolini, the pianist's repertoire ranges from classical to 20th century works. He is also well known for his performance of Scriabin. Naxos Japan
