Being offered for sale is the antique "PITTSBURGH PATTERN" (see last pic for reference) BROAD / HEWING AXE (head only - NO handle included - also marked "TESTED" at both sides, see 2nd & 9th pics) by "COHOES AXE MFG. CO." (D. Simmons Axe Co.) of Cohoes, N.Y., circa the mid -to- late 19th century (best guess), as seen in the pictures/as described in the title. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR IMPORTANT CONDITION NOTES. Being offered for sale as-found, uncleaned. May require a thorough detailing to bring to its full potential. SATISFACTION GUARANTEED or your money back...no questions asked!

CONDITION NOTES:

Good/VG antique condition with minor -to- moderate overall wear throughout (small/minor dings, dents, scuffs, scratches, stains, pitting, etc.) from normal use over the years but NO breaks or repairs. Blade is beveled at one side only and has a few small nicks along the moderately sharp edge. A smoothing/fresh sharpening may be advisable prior to practical use. Perfect as-is for collection/display purposes. Lightly cleaned at maker's mark(s) but otherwise, superbly rich, thick patina throughout. Killer old broad axe!! See pics.
