A deeply sentimental Victorian mourning ring, dated 1854, and created in loving memory of Anne Arnold. Though the loved ones who commission this make long past, their legacy and Anne live on today.

Created in rich 18 carat gold, the ring carries a beautiful warmth and presence. The front panel is centred with an old cut diamond, its soft antique sparkle drawing the eye. Surrounding the stone is an ornate enamel border contrasting between the deep black and warm gold. 

The shoulders are decorated with black enamel panels, bearing the touching inscription “In Memory Of,” a classic mourning sentiment of the period. A particularly lovely detail is the inclusion of the date letter “K” within the design. Typically reserved for the reverse here thoughtfully incorporated into the decoration.

Inside the band, the ring retains its full original dedication, reading 'Anne Arnold Died 11th Oct 1854 Aged 52'. A poignant and personal inscription. Mourning rings such as this were worn by loved ones as a lasting tribute, making this not only a piece of jewellery but a token of remembrance and affection.
