Installation Guidelines

To install the 53671A, you will need a 2-1/4" hole saw. Because of the 15-degree angle, it is crucial to use a mounting template to ensure the hole is elongated correctly to accommodate the tilt of the tube.

Pro-Tip: When mounting in a fiberglass gunwale, always "back-cut" the gelcoat or chamfer the hole edges to prevent spider-cracking when you tighten the mounting screws.

Are you mounting this into a thin-walled gunwale or a solid fiberglass deck?

If your gunwale is on the thinner side, We recommend using a backing plate to prevent the stainless steel from stressing the fiberglass during a heavy hit.
