Some shirts start with a silhouette. The Hawker started with the fabric; an indigo end-on-end cotton from Japan with a texture that immediately stood out to us.

The fabric is woven with alternating indigo and white yarns, creating a subtle contrast in the weave effect that gives the shirt real depth. From a distance it reads like a classic indigo blue, but up close the weave reveals layers of texture you rarely find outside of Japanese mills.

It’s the kind of fabric that feels alive. Textured, breathable and designed to soften beautifully the more you wear it.

The Hawker has been washed down to give it an easy, broken-in feel from day one. The result is a shirt that wears effortlessly on its own or layered over a tee, with a richness in the fabric that does most of the talking.

Japanese fabrics like this are expensive and increasingly difficult to source, but when something special comes along, we believe it’s worth doing right.

Fabric & Care

100% Cotton 

Turn garment inside out, machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Wash separately, do not bleach, tumble dry low. Remove promptly, steam if needed.
