The liver plays a vital role in many body functions and is responsible for the metabolism and storage of nutrients, the digestion of fats, and the detoxification of potentially harmful substances in the body. Prolivet® is an oral nutritional supplement designed to provide cats and dogs with the antioxidants they need to protect them from free radicals and pathogens in the body.
Prolivet® is mainly composed of S-adenosyl methionine (SAMe) and silymarin, providing comprehensive liver nutritional support:

The main ingredient,

Oxomet®, 
is rich in S-adenosyl methionine (SAMe), a fermentation product of the yeast S. cerevisiae. SAMe is particularly important in liver cells and positively impacts metabolism throughout the body. It participates in the synthesis of glutathione, a primary defense mechanism against oxidative stress. It effectively detoxifies harmful molecules, rendering them soluble and facilitating excretion. Glutathione also protects liver cells from deterioration and cell death (apoptosis).
When the liver is damaged, the activity of SAMe synthase decreases, leading to a decrease in SAMe synthesis and limiting glutathione synthesis. Decreased glutathione levels are insufficient to protect the SAMe synthase from oxidative damage, further reducing SAMe synthesis and creating a vicious cycle that can ultimately lead to liver failure, impacting overall metabolism. In vitro supplementation with SAMe can support glutathione synthesis, ensuring the proper functioning of anti-oxidative stress defense mechanisms and maintaining liver health.

Siliphos® 
is a patented formula composed of silybin (Sylibum Marianum, milk thistle fruit) and phosphatidylcholine (lecithin). This phosphatidylcholine-bound silymarin complex has been shown to be more bioavailable than silymarin alone.
Silybin, the most abundant and potent component of silymarin, neutralizes free radicals, thereby protecting liver cells from oxidative damage. It also inhibits the adhesion of toxins and the production of leukotrienes, which are involved in inflammatory responses. Its antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties can reduce or even prevent unnecessary liver damage. Phosphatidylcholine is the
primary precursor of choline and a major component of lipoproteins in the blood and cell membranes. It plays an important role in bile production, mitochondrial energy conversion, and the elimination of cellular metabolic waste. Siliphos® further enhances liver protection through the synergistic action of silybin and phosphatidylcholine, providing strong support for liver health.

Vitamin E 
is primarily found in plant oils and fats, and carnivores may require additional supplementation. It is a potent antioxidant and fat-soluble vitamin that supports liver cell function within the lipid-soluble environment of the cell membrane. Suitable

 in cats and dogs, it helps restore liver function.

Directions:
 Take Prolivet® orally once daily for at least 30 days.

 It is recommended that you fast overnight before administering the tablets, if possible, to ensure an empty stomach for optimal absorption of the active ingredient. If fasting overnight is not possible, wait at least 2 hours (preferably longer) after eating before administering the tablets. After administering the tablets, it is recommended to wait at least 1 hour before feeding your pet.
 You may adjust the number of tablets given gradually at any time, as recommended by your veterinarian.
