ISHKAR and Skateistan have joined forces to create a limited capsule collection of handmade Afghan rugs — where age-old craft meets contemporary design, and artistry becomes a vehicle for impact.

30% of proceeds from the collection will be donated to Skateistan, helping provide safe spaces, skateboarding programs and education for children in at-risk communities.

Embodying the concept of freedom, the Azadi hand-knotted rug is full of flowing curves and striking colours. It depicts a richly detailed landscape, from rolling dunes to skate ramps, with a single female skater at its centre. 

Hand-knotted by weavers in Afghanistan, each rug is made to order, taking around 4-6 months to produce.
