A rare and elegant pair of Edwardian French diamond earrings, beautifully preserved and accompanied by their original fitted box. A scarce and highly desirable survival from the period.

Created in rich 18 carat gold, each earring is a claw set drop style so characteristic of the early 20th century. At the centre of each sits a larger old cut diamond, surmounted by a smaller diamond above, creating a delicate sense of movement and light when worn. The hand cut stones display the softly irregular facets that give antique diamonds their unmistakable charm and romantic sparkle.

Together the diamonds have an approximate combined weight of 1.35 carats. They are of lower clarity with visible natural inclusions, a reminder of their natural formation, yet they remain lively stones, full of fire and personality.
