Born and raised in Southern California, Frances Stark's fascination with skateboarding, punk, rap, and L.A. subculture is reflected in her poetic works that explore a wide array of subjects. The Vans x MOCA Sk8-Hi features an allover print of a video still from Stark's Poets on the Pyre III, 2015. Stark's work highlights issues of race, class, and gender with genuine sincerity and joy. For more than two decades, Stark has explored the meaning of language and its translation into the creative process, highlighting experiences of artists and non-artists alike.

The Vans x MOCA Sk8-Hi is made with sturdy suede and embroidered textile uppers. This legendary high top shoe also includes re-enforced toe caps, supportive padded collars, and signature rubber waffle outsoles.
