A simple and deeply satisfying Victorian seal fob. Full of rich character and classic design.

The piece is formed with an unfussy mount, allowing the focus to rest on the rich red paste intaglio at its base. The stone glows with a deep, warm red hue catching the light with a warm, glassy translucence.

Finely carved into the surface is a shield and ribbon motif, at the centre of which sits the letter 'R'. The design has a distinctly heraldic feel. The intaglio carving gives the piece depth and texture, and would originally have functioned as a seal, leaving its impression in wax.

A timeless and wearable piece, both elegant and quietly distinctive.

Condition: This is overall lovely antique condition with only a fine patina of wear to the stone and metal.  There is overall a lot of fine lines and wear to the intaglio
