Little girls love to carry purses just like their mommies and big sisters.  However, it is easy for little ones to get distracted while playing and lose their purses.  This little outfit by JenAshley Doll Designs provides a fun way to have the look of a purse that will not get lost.  There are several options for varying the look of this set by using different combinations of fabric and choosing from the different sleeve and ruffle options. Recommended Fabrics:  Knits are suitable for all pattern pieces.  Woven fabric such as quilters' cotton may be used for  ruffles  and top back and front pieces

Supplies Needed:

Yardage for this pattern will depend on how you mix and match pattern pieces.  If you wish to cut all pieces from the same fabric, allow 1/2 yard.  I have broken down the yardage to reflect contrast/coordinating fabric as shown in the two samples, labeled View A and View B.
View A (Long sleeves):
Top, Puff Sleeves with Band, Neckband Pant Ruffles – 1/4  yard
Pants, Mock Long Sleeve Layer – 1/4 yard
Ruffles for top:  1 or 2 strips of fabric 30-inches x 2-inches and 30-inches x 1.5 inches or 1 strip of fabric and 2 strips of tulle 34-inches x 2 inches
Purse Pocket – small scraps of fabric
Purse Strap – 12- inch long cording,  braided yarn, or any trim that curves easily
Optional – Felt flower buttons for purse flap and/or leggings
11-inch strip of 3/5 inch wide elastic for pants
Matching or contrasting thread
8-inch long strip of 3/8-inch wide hook and loop tape

View B (Short Sleeves):
Front and back top pieces, pant ruffles – 1/4 yard or fat quarter
Pants, puff sleeves with band, neckband –1/4 yard
Ruffles for top:  1 or 2 strips of fabric 30-inches x 2-inches and 30-inches x 1.5 inches or 1 strip of fabric and 2 strips of tulle 34-inches x 2 inches
Pocket – small scrap of fabric or two small scraps for purse pocket
Optional pocket embellishment – machine embroidery design or iron-on patch
11-inch strip of 3/5 inch wide elastic for leggings
Matching or contrasting thread 
8-inch strip of 3/8 inch wide hook and loop tape
