Round Chromoly Tubing

We offer a large selection of premium quality round chromoly tubing, 4130 alloy heat treated to condition N (Normalized). This material meets or exceeds the MIL T 6736 B spec and is often referred to by several different names: chromemoly, chrome alloy, Promoly or simply 4130 tube.

Tips for Cost Savings on Tubing Shipments:

If you can use pieces 48" or shorter you will save on shipping costs.

We've found that 48" long pieces (and shorter) have reasonable transportation costs.

Pieces over 48" cost more to ship due carriers additional "oversized length" package fees.  

We recommend ordering tubing in shorter lengths whenever possible.

This makes more sense than purchasing long lengths, paying a premium for shipping and cutting it shorter after you receive it.

We offer this material in convenient 1 foot increments - up to 90 inches long.

Q: Is Chromoly steel stronger than Mild steel?

A: Chromoly steel is often used in applications when high strength is needed as it is considerably higher tensile strength than Mild steel.

Note: Welding should always be performed by a qualified welder.
