Founded in 1907 as the aeronautical division of the U.S. Army Signal Corps, 1942 as the Army Air Force, and the U.S. Air Force in 1947 as part of the national security act. Todays Airforce represents two major facets of the strategic triads namely landbased ICBM missiles and nuclear capacity aircraft like the B52G&M, and the B1B bombers (guided by the E3A AWACS Sentry). Our fighter bomber capacity is best represented by the FI5A-D Eagle, the F16 A&B.
