Rye lovers, rejoice! Elijah Craig has finally created a rye version of its beloved thrice-yearly Barrel Proof release. Distilled from a mash bill of 51% rye, 35% corn, and 14% malted barley, the first release of Elijah Craig Barrel Proof Rye, Batch A925, was aged for 12 years and 3 months before barreling without chill filtration at 108 proof. The nose features scents of red fruit, cinnamon, caramel, cocoa, and leather. On the palate, early flavors of blackberry and butterscotch are joined by peppery spice and earthy oak on the midpalate. The finish is long with notes of rye spice, red fruit, and rich oak. Winner of Whisky Advocate's Most Exciting Whisky of 2025.
