Originally released as limited editions in 2018 and 2019, Jack Daniel's has now made its delicious Heritage Barrel a permanent release. Distilled from the classic Jack Daniel's mash of 80% corn, 8% rye, and 12% malted barley, this whiskey features a very low barrel entry proof (100) and is aged in special barrels with extra toasting and minimal char. After at least seven years of maturation the whiskey is bottled as single barrels without chill filtration at 100 proof. The nose offers scents of gingerbread cookie, vanilla, toasted oak, and caramel. On the palate, sweet flavors of caramel, vanilla, and toasted marshmallow are complimented by brown sugar, rich oak, and a hint of black pepper. Brown sugar intensifies through a finish that also provides flavors of toasted oak, tobacco, and toasted marshmallow.
