This complete pack includes everything you need to build a Simrad autopilot system for hydraulic-steered outboard and sterndrive (inboard/outboard) boats up to 10 Meter, or 35 Feet. The reversible hydraulic pump handles cylinder displacement of 80 to 250 Cetimeter³, and is driven by the capable NAC-2 autopilot computer. This pack also features the Simrad Precision-9 solid-state compass, plus all cabling and connectors required to build an NMEA 2000® network backbone or connect your autopilot system to an existing NMEA 2000® network. Our Virtual Rudder Feedback technology eliminates the need for a mechanical rudder feedback unit aboard many vessels, greatly simplifying installation. The AP44 also offers automatic tuning to ensure optimal auto-steering performance, through a simple on-screen commissioning process that guides you through both dockside configuration and sea trial. Once your autopilot system is up and running, the included Precision-9 heading sensor features automatic compass calibration to continually fine-tune heading accuracy as you go.

NAC-2

The NAC-2 Autopilot Computer is the brain behind your autopilot system. NAC-2 contains the control algorithms developed to helm a yacht across a broad range of weather conditions and sea-states, alongside the electronics needed to operate a hydraulic or mechanical drive unit, while also interfacing with other components including heading sensors and rudder feedback units. The NAC-2 was designed for boats up to 10M (33') in length and is suitable for low-current hydraulic drives, mechanical drives, or solenoid valves with a current rating of 8 Amps continuous (12 Amps peak).
