The Replacements debiutancką płytą "Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash" z 1981 roku zapewnili sobie status niebaczących na trendy, wschodzących gwiazd alternatywnej sceny. Materiał powstał w legendarnym składzie Paul Westerberg (wokal, gitara), Chris Mars (perkusja) oraz bracia Bob i Tommy Stinsonowie (odpowiednio gitara i bas). Z płyty pochodzą uznawane dziś za klasyki utwory "Takin' A Ride", "Shiftless When Idle" czy "Customer".

Z okazji 40-lecia "Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash", ukazuje się reedycja płyty, która dostępna będzie w wersji 4CD/1LP. Całość to 100 nagrań, z czego 67 nigdy wcześniej nie było publikowanych. Wśród rarytasów znalazły się pierwsze dema z początku 1980 roku czy profesjonalny zapis koncertu ze stycznia 1981 roku. Oczywiście w zestawie nie zabranie zremasterowanego oryginalnego materiału oraz alternatywnych wersji czy miksów. Wszystko to powstało w ciągu pierwszych 18 miesięcy wspólnej działalności The Replacements. Na winyl trafi zestaw zatytułowany "Deliberate Noise", przedstawiający alternatywne wersje oryginalnych utworów.

"Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash (DELUXE Edition)" to także 12-calowa książeczka w twardej okładce, wypełniona dziesiątakami niepublikowanych zdjęć.

Na potrzeby boksu, oryginalny album poszerzony został o utwór "If Only You Were Lonely" ze strony B Singla. Ponadto, na drugim krążku zatytułowanym "Raised in the City" znalazły się wczesne nagranie grupy ("Try Me" "She’s Firm" "Lookin For Ya"), dema albumowych piosnek ("Shutup", "I Hate Music"), odrzuty ("Shape Up", "Get On The Stick" ) czy rarytasy ("Lie About Your Age", "Johnny Fast").

Trzeci krążek, "Tape's Rolling", zawiera ponad 20 niepublikowanych nagrań, w tym alternatywne wersje "Johnny's Gonna Die" i "Love You Till Friday", alternatywne miksy "Rattlesnake" i "More Cigarettes" oraz domowe dema Westerberga - "You're Pretty When You're Rude" i "If Only You Were Lonely".

Edycję deluxe dopełnia najwcześniejszy, profesjonalnie zarejestrowany koncert The Replacements zatytułowany "Unsuitable for Airplay", a nagrany 23 stycznia 1981 roku w 7th St Entry, w Minneapolis. Fragmenty występu wyemitowano na falach lokalnej rozgłośni KFAI. Koncert odbył się w trakcie prac nad płytą "Sorry Ma", stąd na setlistę trafiły wczesne wersje piosenek, które później poznaliśmy na albumie jako "Hangin Downtown", "Somethin to Dü" i "Rattlesnake". Zespół wykonał też niewydane nigdy kawałki "Mistake" i "Excuse Me" oraz covery utworów The Heartbreakers ("I Wanna Be Loved"), Slade ("My Town"), The Kinks ("All Day and All of the Night") czy Dave'a Edmundsa ("Trouble Boys").
