The 'Black 5's are now available in TT:120 scale! This iconic Stanier 5MT ‘Black 5’ model features the expertly researched and highly accurate CAD from its OO gauge cousin and is DCC ready for upgrade to HM7000 control. This LMS mixed-traffic workhorse is sure to make an impression on any TT:120 layout. This 'Black 5' model depicts No.45315 in British Railways Lined Black livery, with early ‘Cycling Lion’ emblem on the tender.
Entering service as No. 5315 in February 1937, this ‘Black Five’ was a product of Armstrong Whitworth in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, built under contract for the LMS. At the time of nationalisation on 1st January 1968, this was a Patricroft (10C) allocated locomotive, but didn’t receive its new number, 45315, until June 1949, from which point it ran in the condition depicted by the model, with early BR emblem on the tender.
Under BR, it was shedded at Carlisle Upperby, Preston and Crewe South, from where it was withdrawn in August 1963.
