Vintage 1970s embroidered Indian maxi dress, in a semi sheer natural off white cheesecloth. I actually think this would make the basis for a lovely alternative wedding dress.

I bought a couple of these dresses as new old stock, stored unworn since the 70s. this one is missing the label but it is identical to the other branded ones (Make is Durga, made in India - I’ve shown the label from another) 

 No closures, it just goes on over the head. 

Measures: shown on U.K. 8 best up to U.K. 12 max on the bust. 

Bust max 38” below seams 

Shoulder to hem 54”

Waist/ hips free size (up to 50+ inches)

(One size-ish, but I notice there are gussets under the arms which allow for more room. If you wanted a tighter fit at the bust you could sew these ‘shut’, to make it approx 34” at the high bust)

Condition: good, unworn. New old stock.

Not colour run but fibres shedding from the embroidery - see close up. Old storage marks to skirt which have reduced considerably with a hand wash so should hopefully lighten more but is hidden in multiple folds of skirt. One is lower just off centre front hip and other lower left. Otherwise clean and ready to wear!
