Wonderfully deco monochrome print, with graduated ripple effect  - very much of it's time. Pattern direction is interesting, as you realise it's been placed differently on each section for added interest!

Side ties for varied fit, the dress is in bias cut panels. Jabot, neckline and sleeves all feature banding and drawnwork detail, and the sleeves have a triangular self fabric appliqué detail to the elbow.

It's been previously worn and is slightly wounded in places but still wearable. See photos and please read condition below. 

Measures: 

Bias cut, with side ties to fit, it is quite flexible and would fit a range of sizes. 

Bust 44" flat 

Waist 42" before being tied to fit as desired (will stretch to 48" max, to go over bust when putting it on)

Hips up to 58"

Underarm to cuff 18.5"

Length from nape to hem 52"

Condition: 

Whilst the manmade rayon crepe fabric is still strong, it show previous wear and historic repair.

- neckline insert

- front sleeve LHS armpit is patched

- a number of small scattered worn spots and damages, luckily hidden for the most part in the busy print, but certainly there.

Imperfect but wearable as is.. I have left them for you to decide whether or not they are worth concealing. Personally I wouldn’t bother and just wear as is, or even with a black slip. Please see photos. 

It's still an increasingly hard to find pre-war survivor!
