Classic Jackie O box style. Open design with no closure buttons except hook & eye at the neck. Two small patch pockets adorned by lovely gold tone sun buttons with a lion head center. Matching sets of buttons on cuffs. Gold chain trim along the hem inside edge weighs the jacket to hang beautifully. Purple silk lapels and satin lining.

According to the Vintage Fashion Guild, Mr. Kidd relied heavily on Balenciaga & Chanel for design inspiration, and made copies of Chanel suits. A 2012 article from the New York Times states that “Coco Chanel authorized American dressmakers like David Kidd of Jablow to clone her signature nubby tweed suits for the common folk.”
