Known as "chachaso" in Africa, Millefiori is an Italian term meaning "a thousand flowers." Following the collapse of exclusive trade with the East and the dominance of Bohemian glass in the European market, Venice faced significant economic challenges. In response, they created richly decorated glass, epitomized by Millefiori glass. Traders, already engaged in bead trade with Africa, crafted cylindrical beads from this glass, which were then transported to Africa as trade beads.
