The Things That I Used To Do : Best Of Early Years
Description:
This is a compilation of material from the early to late years of the New Orleans guitarist's career. Legendary guitarist Eddie Lee Jones, aka "Guitar Slim," is known for his wild guitar playing and daring stage performances. His powerful sound with distortion and bombastic blasts has captivated many guitarists in later generations, including Earl King, Buddy Guy, Jimi Hendrix, and many others. This album includes not only material from Specialty's heyday (1953-1956), but also the first single released under the name "Eddie Jones" on the Imperial label in 1949, when he moved to New Orleans and began working with Huey "Piano" Smith, which marked the beginning of his career. The album also includes the first single released under the name "Eddie Jones" on the Imperial label at the beginning of his career. The album also includes material from the latter half of his career after moving to Atco (1957-1958), making it an ideal record for tracing his life and musical career. Commentary by Shugo Nagata
