De UM-50 wordt dan bij kleinere buitenunits aan de compressorzijde (zware zijde) geplaatst en bij zwaardere buiten units aan de aan de condensorzijde (lichte zijde). Deze trillingisolatoren zijn zeer 'zacht' en bieden een hoge mate van trillingisolatie, ook bij minder stabiele draagconstructies. De UM-Mounts zijn electrolitisch verzinkt t.b.v. buitenopstellingen. Het is wel raadzaam om na montage de elementen te voorzien van een blanke tectyl laag, dit om versnelde veroudering en corrosie tegen te gaan.
