A heartwarming Christmas album featuring narration and music by popular children's authors The Kanneh-Masons, a world-renowned musical family led by British cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason, together with author Michael Morpurgo and British actress Olivia Colman The Kanneh-Masons have created a Christmas album. This is the first time Shek has worked with his talented brothers on an album. Michael Morpurgo, author of the children's novel "War Horse," is so popular with children that he has written a new script for Saint-Saens' "Carnival of the Animals. It is narrated by Olivia Coleman, who won an Academy Award for her role in the film "Her Majesty's Favorite," along with Morpurgo himself. Also included is the narrated version of Morpurgo's film "Grandpa Christmas," a heartwarming story about a grandfather who wants the earth's environment to be protected so that his granddaughter can live in a better world. Grandpa is played by Morpurgo and his granddaughter is played by Mariatu, the youngest in the Canay-Mason family at 11 years old.The program also includes such favorites as Tchaikovsky's "Dance of the Kelp Sugar Spirit" from "The Nutcracker," Rimsky=Korsakov's "The Flight of the Bear Bee," and Eric Whitaker's "The Sea Lion Lullaby." The seven members of the Canay-Mason family perform their own arrangement of Bob Marley's "Redemption Song," 40 years after its initial release. Universal Music/IMS
